While movies today are highly digitized, they were at one time all produced on film strips. Each film strip reel held a movie that had many hours worth of work poured into it, often creating films that were loved around the world. Each of the movie reels were sent out to cinemas around the country, where the movies were shown on screens to audiences of all sizes. Once the cinema was finished with the movie reel, they were sent back to the movie distributors, where they were to be discarded under close supervision. Thankfully, not all of them were destroyed.
